What is the Difference between Spirit and Soul?
Posted by Vic on Oct 29, 2010 in Spirituality | 2 commentsWhat is the difference between a human spirit and his soul? Many people are expecting to celebrate the Halloween. Then “All Soul’s Day” is also fast approaching. But before we face, commemorate or enjoy these events, let us first digest some important wisdom relating to our spirits and souls. Many people say they are just the same and interchangeable terms, while others tell that they are distinct from one another. Spiritual development is one of my most important goal and vision for my readers (including myself). It is also vital in our entire personal development. Thus, join me to find the truth about the distinctions and similarities of the two items.
| Spirit
1. It is the breath of life from God 5. It is directly associated with your spiritual desires 8. It returns to God when a person dies |
Soul
1. It is the life you live |
For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. – Hebrews 4:12 (New International Version)
I hope that the presentation above has given you enlightenment about the difference between a spirit and a human soul. I know there are still many distinct features between the two. Hence, I will regularly update this list to make it a complete comparison. You may also add your wisdom and the knowledge that you have about the topic to enrich our discussion. For the mean time, let us be prepared to commemorate the coming All Soul’s Day – a day to remind us to value and clean our souls. Finally, let us be more spiritual to righteously develop our souls, our life and our whole personality.
